Reflections
Fear is a common enemy among the heart of a believer. Satan is always on the prowl looking for ways to infiltrate the peace that we have in Christ. As Christians we need to stand firm on the promises of God that everything is under His control. This Psalm speaks to God’s strength being present in times of trouble. This means that when we face a situation that causes fear, God is right there ready to gives us the tools we need to combat whatever it is that is taking away our source of peace.
God’s word says that He gives us HIS peace, it is something that the world is not able to offer us. His peace trumps any fear or doubt that we face and attacks the enemies schemes to bring us down. This Psalm speaks to how God is in control of this entire universe. From the storms, rivers, and the rulers of this Nation God has covered it all. His hand lead and guides every event that takes place and because of that promise we have nothing to fear.
The Psalmist states that the earth melts under the voice of the Lord. Literally, the voice of God created all things when He called them into being. The God who spoke things into existence, is the same God who is our rock and salvation. If the Lord who melts the earth with his voice is on our side then who can be against us?
When times are difficult do not forget that it is just a season. God will see you through it and He will guard you in the storm.
