About: Saint Jerome was one of the most influential translators in history. Originally tasked with updating and organizing the Latin manuscripts in the start of the 4th century, he went on to translate the majority of the Bible from the original Greek and Hebrew into Latin. He took notes on his work and collaborated with other experts the he had access to. He also wrote letter concerning translation work and other matters of the faith. The "Select Letters of St. Jerome" contains letters to faith leaders and dignitaries of his time. These should enrich the reader with information about the life and times that Jerome lived in as well as the many struggles concerning his work and faith.
