The Parable of the Lost Coin
8 “Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp and sweep the house and seek diligently until she finds it? 9 And when she has found it, she calls together her friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found the coin that I had lost.’ 10 Just so, I tell you, there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”
Observations and Reflections
Jesus continues on with His point about the value of a lost soul being saved and how much God and His angels rejoice over it. God rejoices when we come to the saving knowledge of who He is because He values and loves each and every one of us. His love for us is what dictates His ongoing pursuit of our hearts and lives.
There is a relentless search for hearts who are lost and are in need of saving. There is also an urgent need to keep looking and never stop because those souls are worth more then the one who has lost her coin and searches diligently to find it.
We have a heavenly Father who is always on the move to seek us out and bring us to Him. He wants us for to keep coming back to Him and to keep pressing in to Him and to not give up on living the Christian life because He has not given up in His pursuit to find us. There is no one and nothing that is outside the reach of God’s love and grace.
He is a God that has set out to save this world from sin and Has done so by dying on the cross in our place. His loving and gracious hand is still readily available to us today and is not far from your grasp. He has searched high and low for you and ask yourself if your response will be to take His hand of Grace and live a life that promises eternal security both now and forever.
