Reflections
This is a Psalm of praise for all that He has done. There is always a reason to thank and praise God. Throughout the course of our lives we should always be reminded of how much God has done for us, always praising God for both the good and bad.
This Psalm is praising God for who He is and also for how vast and far His power goes. To his ruling over the authoritative figures in this world to opening up the womb of a woman who was not able to have kids, there is nothing that is outside of His authority, and to that we praise Him for it.
Today my husband and I received awesome news about our current immigration situation. We still have a few more things to get through but we have definitely experienced an answer to prayer. When I first heard the news, I was so stunned and shocked. When I finally registered what was happening the only thing I could muster up was “Thank You God”. However that can sometimes be enough.
When we go through our day to day lives and especially when we experience God’s major blessings, we must ask ourselves what our initial response is. Answered prayer is an example of when we should fall to our knees, praising God for choosing to answer us and acknowledge our pleas and requests.
We serve an awesome and loving God. He is worthy to be praised. Let us daily thank and praise Him for loving, guiding and leading us.
He gives the barren woman a home, making her the joyous mother of children. Praise the LORD!
There are a number of instances in the scriptures where God “opens the womb” of a barren women or provides a child for a couple that were unable to do so. I think these miracles are special, not just because they are miraculous event but because it shows that God really cares about what we care about. Stated another way, God cares not just about sustaining you but He also cares about your heart’s desires. For many people, having children is the deepest desire they will have.
Do not get caught up believing the lie that God has left you here to fend for yourself. You are not alone and God will provide.
Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart. (Psalm 37:4)
