Jesus Again Foretells His Death<\/h2>\n

Luke 9:44-45<\/h3>\n

But while they were all marveling at everything he was doing, Jesus\u00a0said\u00a0to his disciples,<\/span>\u00a044\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cLet these words sink into your ears:\u00a0The Son of Man is about to be delivered into the hands of men.\u201d<\/span><\/span>\u00a045\u00a0<\/sup>But they did not understand this saying, and\u00a0it was concealed from them, so that they might not perceive it. And they were afraid to ask him about this saying.<\/span><\/p>\n

Observations and Reflections<\/h2>\n

\"Lydia.jpg\"Sometimes hearing information and actually understanding it can be two completely different things. Jesus Christ was in the process of letting His disciples in on exactly why He came to this world. He was doing so in order so that they might be prepared to endure His death and resurrection.<\/p>\n

Jesus was preparing them to eventually take on His ministry and finish what He started. His goal was to equip them to take the message of the Gospel and preach all over the world. In order for that to happen, His death had to take place and they were going to have to fully understand the importance of His death and resurrection not only so they can be saved but in order to be affective in their future ministry.<\/p>\n

Jesus’ death on the cross was the main reason why He came to this earth. His disciples were part of history in the making and were eye witnesses to Jesus enacting His plan of redemption and salvation for the world. Fear was usually the initial reaction to any type of news that Jesus gave them regarding His death, but one day they would come to fully understand all that He taught them and would come effective tools for spreading the Gospel to the entire world.<\/p>\n
