Pope Behaves Like Jesus: Republican Heads Explode!

I have seen Fox News attack many people but I did not expect them to attack the Pope. But does he really deserve such treatment? What did he say to make them so upset?

Answer: He is just being an honest Christian and doing what Christian’s are supposed to do. Loving others and being responsible. But that is a problem for the political right of this country.

They need everyone to believe that global warming is a hoax. Pope Francis says no!

francis_climate_change“A very solid scientific consensus indicates that we are presently witnessing a disturbing warming of the climatic system. … A number of scientific studies indicate that most global warming in recent decades is due to the great concentration of greenhouse gases (carbon dioxide, methane, nitrogen oxides and others) released mainly as a result of human activity.”

“The Earth, our home, is beginning to look more and more like an immense pile of filth. In many parts of the planet, the elderly lament that once beautiful landscapes are now covered with rubbish.”

“Never have we so hurt and mistreated our common home as we have in the last 200 years.”

“We are not God. The Earth was here before us and was given to us.”

“The idea of infinite or unlimited growth, which proves so attractive to economists, financiers and experts in technology … is based on the lie that there is an infinite supply of the earth’s goods, and this leads to the planet being squeezed dry at every limit.”

They need people to believe that the poor people are the problem with the country, rather than a symptom of the problems. Pope Francis says no!

pope francis wealth“These days there is a lot of poverty in the world, and that’s a scandal when we have so many riches and resources to give to everyone. We all have to think about how we can become a little poorer.”

“To love God and neighbor is not something abstract, but profoundly concrete: it means seeing in every person and face of the Lord to be served, to serve him concretely. And you are, dear brothers and sisters, in the face of Jesus.”

“Read the parable of Lazarus and the rich man (Lk 16:19-31). In today’s world, who is Lazarus? Who is the rich man? Where do you fit in?”

They need people to believe that responsible economics, that do not favor the wealthy and corrupt, is actually marxism and communism. Pope Francis says no!

pope francis on greed“[The economic system] has imposed the mentality of profit at any price, with no concern for social exclusion or the destruction of nature.”

“Corporations, loan agencies, certain ’free trade’ treaties, and the imposition of measures of ’austerity’ which always tighten the belt of workers and the poor.”

“And behind all this pain, death and destruction there is the stench of what Basil of Caesarea, one of the church’s first theologians, called ‘the dung of the devil.’ An unfettered pursuit of money rules. That is the dung of the devil.”

“Obsession with a consumerist lifestyle, above all when few people are capable of maintaining it, can only lead to violence and mutual destruction.”

“Inequality is the root of social ills … as long as the problems of the poor are not radically resolved by rejecting the absolute autonomy of markets and financial speculation and by attacking the structural causes of inequality, no solution will be found for the world’s problems or, for that matter, to any problems.”

“Some people might say some things sounded slightly more left-ish, but that would be a mistake of interpretation. It is I who follows the church … my doctrine on all this … on economic imperialism, is that of the social doctrine of the church.”

They need the people to believe that America will be burned to the ground like Sodom and Gomorrah for allowing gay marriage. Pope Francis says no!

Pope on gays“Tell me: when God looks at a gay person, does he endorse the existence of this person with love, or reject and condemn this person? We must always consider the person. Here we enter into the mystery of the human being. In life, God accompanies persons, and we must accompany them, starting from their situation. It is necessary to accompany them with mercy.”

“If a homosexual person is of good will and is in search of God, I am no one to judge… it is not right to interfere spiritually in the life of a person.”

They need people to believe that immigrants are destroying America. Pope Francis says no!

pope francis immigration“Our world is facing a refugee crisis of a magnitude not seen since the Second World War. This presents us with great challenges and many hard decisions. On this continent, too, thousands of persons are led to travel north in search of a better life for themselves and for their loved ones, in search of greater opportunities. Is this not what we want for our own children?”

“We must not be taken aback by their numbers, but rather view them as persons, seeing their faces and listening to their stories, trying to respond as best we can to their situation. To respond in a way which is always humane, just and fraternal. We need to avoid a common temptation nowadays: to discard whatever proves troublesome.”

“When the stranger in our midst appeals to us, we must not repeat the sins and the errors of the past. We must resolve now to live as nobly and as justly as possible, as we educate new generations not to turn their back on our neighbors and everything around us. Building a nation calls us to recognize that we must constantly relate to others, rejecting a mindset of hostility in order to adopt one of reciprocal subsidiarity, in a constant effort to do our best. I am confident that we can do this.”

It appears that the Pope has now met with Kim Davis, so the next post is going to be about liberal heads exploding.
